The Lutheran Educational Conference of North America (LECNA) represents 41 Lutheran colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. Each of these institutions focus on developing the whole self through active learning that engages the mind, body and spirit.
Our member institutions share a common interest in developing the whole human being, strongly believe that faith is a core component of an education and that students need to develop deep critical thinking skills to be successful in the 21st century. They also remain committed to enrolling students from all socioeconomic backgrounds and seek to build diverse student bodies.
Research demonstrates that our graduates were more engaged by their faculty in the classroom and more likely to have leadership positions outside of the classroom during their four years in college than students attending flagship public universities.
LECNA serves our member institutions, the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and prospective students and parents around the country. We look forward to seeing you at one of our college fairs or other events and we invite you to explore the research available across this site.
You can also join us on Facebook to learn more about our member colleges and universities, get announcements about upcoming college fairs and interact with our "Champions of Lutheran Higher Education," a group of Lutheran college and university advocates from across the nation.
